HEADLINES : Your Feedback on WWE's Online Antics: Your Site Rocks, Thank You
Posted by Marc Middleton on 2008/5/7 9:30:00 (216 reads)

- Yesterday we asked you for your feedback on WWE's attack on smaller websites like ours and their attempts to make WWE.com the #1 website for wrestling fans. The response from you guys was enormous and here is some of your e-mails:

Lachlan Bourke wrote: Hey! I’m only 13, but I have a big opinion on this. I think WWE’s attack on the smaller sites is ridiculous. First, you smaller sites provide real, down-to-earth information. Wwe.com on the other hand, has this strange mix of articles, some; kayfaybe stories that is only an attempt to add a boost to ratings, and others, that are real legitimate ones. (eg. Their articles on the Benoit double-murder suicide thing…) Second, it’s not like they can think that getting us fans off sites like wrestlenewz.com and wrestleattitude will add traffic to their site, because like I said in my fist point, their not going to have stories about Santino Marella getting arrested for DUI(as an example). And WWE.com will never be my number one source, because of them points.

Dario Blanco wrote: I think what you guys do it great! I'm a fan of pro wrestling but there are things within WWE that I want to know anything that relates to WWE I read because I know for a fact that WWE is not all it seems remember Survivor Series 1997? And if the WWE goes after websites like this one I would feel cheated.

Lrubio wrote: Wow, this news is ground breaking! Like you said you help promote their product, that just shows you how selfish the Mc mahons are. I never go to their web site. They don't provide that backstage dirt like you and other websites do. Wrestling is not what it used to, after the monopoly era it will never be the same. TNA needs 2 stop the gimmick matches and the will have lot more success. As for wwe the product is washed out like a 30 some year old QB. Tired of same old story lines. If I wouldn't love the sport so much I would bann the whole wwe. What I will ban is gng into their web site and get the information through you guys. Besides you offer juicier topics, wwe hides things from the fans.......the ones that supports them. By the way fire mike adamble!

Texas Jarhead wrote: Bunk the WWE. While I do enjoy RAW, SMACKDOWN, and other WWE related information, very rarely (if at all) do I venture to wwe.com. Why bother? Wrestleattitude rocks!

Felix Garibay wrote: WWE wants to create their own "News" instead of us reading it from some other website like this one. Let me just say, i think these kind of websites are alwsome. Hopefully i will run a website like this one.
Janet Adcock wrote: Well lets face it, WWE can't face the fact that you guys tell the truth and us fans know it. WWE and Vince Machon couuldn't tell the truth if there lives depended on it. Keep going guys. Love your work.

Henry Palmann wrote: I wouldn't take offence to it, it's just business, they logically don't want people knowing in advance the storylines and WM matches etc, coz it will take some of the fun for the kids and other people who don't go to these sites. I read all the WWE dirt on here, then I go 'n watch it on dailymotion, I'm UK based so can't see many live things...but its gossip that will kill the experience for others I guess is probably their reason. They've got a point. Your site visits are going up at the expense of WWE's that means surely more people are knowing what will happen in advance, and increasing...it's easier to criticise a company like TNA or WWE when you already know what's happening, back in the early web days and before that, gossip like this would have obviously been far less rampant, and so the excitement would have been easier to generate.

Zack P. wrote: I think they should back the hell off! I have been coming to these websites for over 8 years, and I dont intend on changing that. They wont succeed in their futile attempt to make their website #1 (especially when they promote another company on their website). They actually think they can succeed when they promote TNA and ROH and other companies. Yeah, good luck WWE (not really).

Christine Gillam wrote: I enjoy your site because it gives us honest, otherwise unknown information about wrestlers and the wrestling world. Though I visit WWE’s site, I know that what I get there will be mostly hype, not the backstory or inside info. Without your site I wouldn’t know “What I Didn’t See on Raw” or be kept up to date on the rumors and real life part of the wrestling entertainment industry. WrestleNewz is the TMZ of the wrestling world and I think WWE should leave you alone. Sites like yours help ratings, not hurt them.

Steven wrote: Just wanted to give my view and opinion on the reference made to "fan sites," "or other sites." I, for one think its wrong to do it; because well, you guys are providing a great service by posting the “dirt” if you will about WWE, TNA, basically all that WWE doesn't want the fans to know about. Without you guys, we'd have the basic interview, maybe a video update and some textual information linking in reference to some huge news site (non Wrestling related), they are not covering stories that the fans want to know about. Whereas you guys are and are doing a great job in doing so; let it be known that I do run a fansite on a WWE Star - and without the help of wrestling news sites, I would have no updates, or nothing to post at all other than the results from a Raw/SmackDown/Pay-Per-View. You help us major fans by giving us a look "behind the scenes," if you will. And please don't ever stop doing that.
