- As featured in an article in the June 2008 edition of PlayStation Magazine, WWE’s SmackDown vs. RAW 2009 will be improved drastically through many new tweaks and additions. Next year’s version of the game will feature decreased load time, smarter computer opponents, additions to the games commentary track, additions to the animation scheme and improved hit detection. Other additions include a new create a finisher mode, a new tag team mode and Superstar specific storyline’s in “The Road to WrestleMania” career mode. The game is sure to excite fans anticipating its release.
- In an article posted on NBC11.com May 1, a person sent in an e-mail describing a heroic event that took place in Orlando during an autograph session WrestleMania XXIV weekend. A man on line during a signing featuring Mickie James and Torrie Wilson collapsed and started having an epileptic seizure. The person who sent in the e-mail, a 911 operator, was close by and made their way to the man to help him. They instructed the two WWE Divas to clear the area, as they did by moving the autograph table. Current WWE Women's Champion Mickie James then got on the ground and held the man, keeping him calm as his seizure began to pass. The person who e-mailed the news station described Mickie James as being extremely helpful during the situation and sincerely concerned over the well-being of the fan.
- WWE’s integration into the presidential race was discussed amongst other media outlets as a segment on The Today Show on May 6. Host Matt Lauer discussed with his guests the appearances by the presidential candidates on Saturday Night Live, The Late Show and MySpace.com, as well as WWE’s Raw. The segment discussed whether the candidates were over-saturating the market, and if it was worth it or not in the long run.
