HEADLINES : WrestleMania 24 Buys Disappoint WWE and Mayweather's Expectations
Posted by Marc Middleton on 2008/5/6 10:20:42 (371 reads)

- WrestleMania 24 drew 1,058,000 buys for $23.8 million, which is less than the 1.2 million buys and $24.6 million the company earned for WrestleMania 23 last year. The information was released this morning as part of the company's first quarter earnings report.

The buzz leading into WrestleMania 24 was that Vince McMahon was targeting 1.4 million buys, so this number is disappointing to WWE. Floyd Mayweather predicted in interviews that the number would top the totals sales for WrestleMania 23, which featured Donald Trump. Nevertheless, WWE officials should be thrilled with the overall first quarter numbers. We will have more on that shortly.
