Posted by Marc Middleton on 2008/5/5 16:22:42 (1083 reads)

- WWE Chairman Vince McMahon will be receiving the Promax/BDA lifetime achievement award at the 53rd annual Promax/BDA conference in Manhattan which will be held between June 17th and 19th. Promax/BDA CEO Jonathan Block-Verk said that McMahon managed to develop the WWE brand from a regional syndicated program to "virtually every conceivable platform available in today's marketplace." WWE usually wins awards at Promax/BDA events for their graphics and TV production and in the past won awards for the 2005 SummerSlam car wash commercial, the WrestleMania 21 Hollywood spoofs, Tribute to the Troops and others.

- The following videos are on Billboard's Top 10 Recreational Sports chart for the week ending May 10th. 'Triple H: The King Of Kings' keeps the first place, 'The Legacy Of Stone Cold Steve Austin' in fifth, 'The Best Of Raw: 15th Anniversary 1993-2008' in sixth place, 'No Way Out 2008' in seventh and 'John Cena: My Life' wraps it up in tenth place. UFC has three videos in third, fourth and ninth positions.

- Edge's antics during Sunday's SmackDown/ECW house show at the Aitken Center in New Brunswick are chronicled in today's Daily Gleaner. The story on the WWE house show recalls Edge and MVP walking to the ring carrying hockey sticks. Edge was wearing a Montreal Canadiens jersey and then impersonated goalie Carey Price pretending to let MVP's imaginary slap shot go between his legs for a goal.
